Ingredients
1 can (15 oz) navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. 2. In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
3. 3. Add the chopped bacon to the skillet and cook until crispy.
4. 4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beans, sautéed onion and bacon, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, and apple cider vinegar.
5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. 6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, until bubbly.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can also make this dish ahead of time and reheat it before serving.
