Description

Indulge in the cozy, aromatic delight of our homemade Winter Coffee Brioche Buns – a quick and easy recipe that’s sure to become a new family favorite! These soft, buttery buns are the perfect pairing for a morning cup of coffee or a cozy weekend breakfast.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 2 large eggs, room temperature

– 1 cup warm milk

– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

Instructions

1. – In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.

2. – Add the softened butter and use your fingers to work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. – In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and warm milk. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a shaggy dough forms.

4. – Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

5. – Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6. – Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a smooth ball.

7. – Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

8. – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

9. – Bake the buns for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

10. – Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

– For a more pronounced coffee flavor, you can add 1-2 teaspoons of instant coffee powder to the dough.

– These buns can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 2 months.
