Description

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

– 1 large egg

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped

– 1/4 cup milk


Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. – In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and vanilla bean seeds.

4. – Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the milk.

5. – Scoop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

6. – Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra vanilla flavor, use 1 full vanilla bean. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
