These Thanksgiving Cookies are a must-bake for the holiday season. Buttery, tender, and filled with warm spices, they’re the perfect festive treat to share with family and friends.
Ingredients
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 large egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. 3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined.
4. 4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
5. 5. Scoop the dough by the tablespoonful onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
6. 6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a festive touch, decorate the cooled cookies with royal icing, sprinkles, or a dusting of powdered sugar. The cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
