Ingredients
– 1 cup tapioca starch
– 1/2 cup water
– 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
Instructions
1. – In a medium bowl, mix together the tapioca starch and water until a dough forms.
2. – Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. – Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll them into 1/2-inch balls.
4. – Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the tapioca pearls and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pearls are translucent.
5. – Drain the cooked pearls and transfer them to a bowl of cold water to cool.
6. – Once cooled, drain the pearls and toss them with sugar, if desired.
7. – Use the tapioca pearls immediately in your favorite bubble tea, dessert, or other recipe.
Notes
For best results, use freshly made tapioca pearls within 2-3 days. Store any leftover pearls in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
