Description

Elevate your taste buds with this award-winning Sumac Onion Salad – a quick, fresh, and flavorful side dish or light meal. Featuring tangy sumac-spiced onions, this salad is a delightful balance of tart, savory, and aromatic flavors.

Ingredients

– 1 large red onion, thinly sliced

– 2 tablespoons sumac

– 3 tablespoons olive oil

– 2 tablespoons lemon juice

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint

Instructions

1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced red onion, sumac, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Toss to coat the onions evenly.

2. 2. Let the onion mixture sit for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

3. 3. Just before serving, stir in the chopped parsley and mint.

4. 4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Notes

For a heartier meal, serve the Sumac Onion Salad over a bed of greens or alongside grilled meats or falafel. The salad can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
