Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of these Strawberry Shortcake Crumble Bars – a delightful twist on a classic dessert. Bursting with juicy berries and a buttery crumble topping, these bars are a must-try treat.

Ingredients

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.

2. – In a large bowl, combine the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. – Press half the crumb mixture into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.

4. – In a separate bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch.

5. – Spread the strawberry mixture over the crust.

6. – Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture evenly over the top of the strawberries.

7. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

8. – Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a variation, try using a mix of berries such as raspberries and blackberries. The bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
