Description

Indulge in the bold flavors of this Spicy Kimchi Bulgogi Cheesesteak, a mouthwatering fusion of Korean and American cuisine. Tender beef bulgogi, fiery kimchi, and melted cheese come together in a toasted, handheld package for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

– 1 lb thinly sliced beef (such as sirloin or flank steak)

– 1 cup spicy kimchi, chopped

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

– 4 hoagie or sub rolls, split lengthwise

– 2 tbsp vegetable oil

– 2 tbsp soy sauce

– 1 tbsp brown sugar

– 1 tsp sesame oil

– 1 tsp grated ginger

– 1 clove garlic, minced

– 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

– Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. 1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

2. 2. Add the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

3. 3. Stir in the chopped kimchi and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the kimchi is heated through.

4. 4. Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 400°F (200°C).

5. 5. Place the split hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and toast them until lightly golden, about 3-5 minutes.

6. 6. Divide the spicy beef and kimchi mixture evenly among the toasted rolls. Top each sandwich with a generous amount of shredded cheese.

7. 7. Return the sandwiches to the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

8. 8. Serve the Spicy Kimchi Bulgogi Cheesesteaks hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or use a hotter variety of kimchi. You can also experiment with different cheese options, such as provolone, pepper jack, or even a blend of cheeses. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
