Indulge in the delicious flavors of this Spicy Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese! Creamy, melted cheese is paired with the kick of spicy jalapeños for an irresistible twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich.
Ingredients
– 8 slices sourdough bread
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapeños
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1/2 tsp paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. – Spread the softened cream cheese evenly on 4 slices of bread.
2. – Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapeños over the cream cheese.
3. – Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread.
4. – Spread the softened butter on the outside of the sandwiches.
5. – Season the outsides of the sandwiches with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
6. – Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
7. – Slice the grilled cheese sandwiches in half and serve hot.
Notes
For extra spice, add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. You can also substitute pepper jack cheese for the cheddar. Serve with a side salad or pickled jalapeños for a complete meal.
