Description

Indulge in the irresistible fusion of tender smash dumplings and zesty taco flavors with this quick and satisfying Smash Dumpling Tacos recipe. Crispy wonton wrappers are filled with a flavorful ground meat mixture, then fried to perfection and served in taco shells with fresh veggies and a tangy sauce.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef or turkey

– 1 package wonton wrappers

– 1 cup shredded cabbage

– 1 diced tomato

– 1/2 cup diced onion

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tbsp taco seasoning

– 1 tsp ground cumin

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Taco shells

– Toppings: shredded cheese, diced avocado, chopped cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

1. – In a skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

2. – Add the garlic, taco seasoning, and cumin to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.

3. – Place a wonton wrapper in the palm of your hand. Scoop 1-2 tbsp of the meat mixture into the center.

4. – Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water and fold it in half to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal.

5. – In a skillet with 1/2 inch of oil, fry the dumplings for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

6. – Drain the fried dumplings on a paper towel-lined plate.

7. – To assemble, place the fried dumplings into taco shells. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomato, onion, and your desired toppings.

8. – Serve immediately, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.

Notes

– For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeño to the meat mixture.

– Experiment with different taco shell types like hard corn or soft flour tortillas.

– Leftover dumplings can be frozen for later use.
