Description

These Sichuan dry fried green beans are a quick, flavorful side dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights. With bold flavors and a crisp-tender texture, they’re sure to become a new family favorite.


Ingredients

– 1 lb green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon grated ginger

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

– 1 teaspoon sugar

– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)

– Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. – Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

2. – Add the green beans and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until starting to blister and char.

3. – Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.

4. – Pour in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Toss to coat the green beans evenly.

5. – Continue stir-frying for 2-3 minutes, until the green beans are crisp-tender.

6. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. – Serve hot as a side dish or main course.

Notes

For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes. You can also add thinly sliced carrot or bell pepper for extra color and crunch.
