Description

Indulge in the unique blend of salted honey and fragrant chamomile in this homemade pie. The perfect sweet and salty treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

– 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

– 3-5 tablespoons ice water

– 1/2 cup honey

– 3 large eggs

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 2 tablespoons dried chamomile flowers

Instructions

1. – In a food processor, combine the flour and salt. Add the chilled butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2. – Slowly add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough just begins to hold together.

3. – Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

4. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

5. – Roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges.

6. – Sprinkle the dried chamomile flowers evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.

7. – Pour the honey mixture over the chamomile.

8. – Bake at 375°F for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set.

9. – Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality, raw honey. The chamomile flowers can be adjusted to taste preference. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
