Description

Indulge in the cozy, comforting flavors of Pumpkin Sage Pasta, a delightful fall dish that combines the rich, velvety texture of pumpkin with the savory aroma of fresh sage. This easy-to-make, 30-minute meal is sure to become a new family favorite.

Ingredients

– 1 lb penne pasta

– 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage leaves

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. 2. In a large skillet, combine the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, sage, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Whisk the mixture and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.

3. 3. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and creamy.

4. 4. Add the cooked penne pasta to the pumpkin sauce and toss to coat. Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh sage leaves and parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

For a richer, creamier sauce, you can use half-and-half or a combination of heavy cream and milk. To add a bit of crunch, top the pasta with toasted breadcrumbs or chopped walnuts.
