Ingredients
– 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
– 2 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
– Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. 2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 6 equal rectangles.
3. 3. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
4. 4. Arrange the apple slices in a row, overlapping slightly, on each puff pastry rectangle.
5. 5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples.
6. 6. Starting from the short end, tightly roll up each puff pastry rectangle to create a rose shape.
7. 7. Place the rolled tarts in a greased muffin tin or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
8. 8. Brush the tops of the tarts with the melted butter.
9. 9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.
10. 10. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
11. 11. Dust the warm tarts with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a more vibrant color, you can use red apples. To make ahead, prepare the tarts up to the baking step, then cover and refrigerate until ready to bake. Adjust baking time as needed if the tarts are chilled.
