Description
Indulge in the patriotic flavors of this Patriotic Firecracker Poke Cake – a moist, fluffy vanilla cake with vibrant red, white, and blue fillings, topped with a creamy whipped cream frosting. Perfect for 4th of July parties and summer celebrations!
Ingredients
– 1 box vanilla cake mix
– Food coloring (red, white, blue)
– 1 can sweetened condensed milk
– 1 cup heavy whipping cream
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar
– Patriotic sprinkles
Instructions
1. – Bake the vanilla cake according to package instructions. Allow to cool completely.
2. – Use the bottom of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
3. – Divide the sweetened condensed milk into three bowls. Tint one bowl red, one bowl blue, and leave one white.
4. – Carefully pour the colored milks into the holes in the cake, alternating the colors.
5. – Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the fillings to set.
6. – In a medium bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
7. – Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
8. – Sprinkle patriotic sprinkles over the top of the cake.
9. – Refrigerate the cake until ready to serve.
Notes
For best results, make the cake a day in advance to allow the fillings to fully set. Serve chilled for a refreshing summer treat.
