Description
Indulge in the mouthwatering combination of crispy, golden oven-fried feta rolls drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili honey. These rolls make the perfect appetizer or snack, with a delightful contrast of textures and flavors.
Ingredients
– 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
– 8 sheets phyllo dough
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 tsp chili powder
– 1/2 tsp paprika
– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
– Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. 2. In a small bowl, mix together the crumbled feta cheese.
3. 3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean, dry surface and brush with melted butter. Place another sheet of phyllo on top and brush with butter.
4. 4. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the feta mixture onto the bottom third of the phyllo sheets. Fold the bottom edge over the filling, then fold in the sides and continue to roll up tightly into a cylinder.
5. 5. Place the rolled feta rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. 6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
7. 7. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, chili powder, paprika, and cayenne. Heat over low, stirring occasionally, until warm and well-combined.
8. 8. Drizzle the chili honey over the warm feta rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispy rolls, brush the tops with additional melted butter before baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
