Description

Discover the secrets to Grandma’s legendary Muffaletta Sandwich – a classic New Orleans favorite with layers of cured meats, tangy olive salad, and melty cheese.

Ingredients

– 1 round Italian or French bread loaf, sliced in half horizontally

– 1/2 cup olive salad

– 4 oz thinly sliced Genoa salami

– 4 oz thinly sliced ham

– 4 oz thinly sliced mortadella

– 4 oz thinly sliced provolone cheese

– 4 oz thinly sliced mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1. 1. Spread the olive salad evenly over the bottom half of the bread.

2. 2. Layer the salami, ham, and mortadella over the olive salad.

3. 3. Top the meats with the provolone and mozzarella cheese slices.

4. 4. Place the top half of the bread over the cheese.

5. 5. Press the sandwich firmly to compact the layers.

6. 6. Slice and serve immediately, or wrap in foil and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, use a high-quality round Italian or French bread loaf. The olive salad can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 1 week. Adjust the types and amounts of meats and cheeses to suit your personal preferences.
