Description

Satisfy your sweet tooth with this irresistible homemade version of the iconic Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding. Creamy, dreamy, and bursting with banana flavor, this classic dessert is a must-try for any banana pudding lover.

Ingredients

– 2 cups whole milk

– 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

– 3 large egg yolks

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/8 teaspoon salt

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 4 ripe bananas, sliced

– 1 (11 oz) box vanilla wafers

Instructions

1. – In a medium saucepan, whisk together the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, sugar, and salt.

2. – Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 10-15 minutes.

3. – Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the custard to cool completely.

4. – In a large glass bowl or trifle dish, layer half the vanilla wafers, half the banana slices, and half the custard. Repeat the layers.

5. – Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or up to 2 days, before serving.

Notes

For best results, use ripe but firm bananas. The custard can also be made a day in advance. Top with additional wafers and banana slices just before serving.
