Description
Indulge in the flavors of King Cake with these easy Cinnamon Rolls made with a convenient canned dough hack! A perfect Mardi Gras or weekend treat.
Ingredients
– 1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2-3 tablespoons milk or cream
– Purple, green, and gold sprinkles
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. – Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the perforations to seal, forming a large rectangle.
3. – In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
4. – Brush the dough with the melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
5. – Tightly roll up the dough from the short side to create a log. Slice the log into 9 equal pieces.
6. – Place the rolls, cut-side up, on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
7. – Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown.
8. – In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk/cream until smooth and pourable.
9. – Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and sprinkle with the colorful Mardi Gras sprinkles.
10. – Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
– For extra flavor, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the icing.
– Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
