Description

Indulge in the rich, buttery warmth of classic Hot Buttered Rum, a beloved winter cocktail that’s perfect for sipping by the fire on a chilly evening. This easy-to-make recipe combines spiced rum, butter, brown sugar, and aromatic spices for a decadent and comforting treat.

Ingredients

– 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

– 2 tbsp brown sugar

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

– 1/4 tsp ground cloves

– 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups spiced rum

– 4 cups hot water

Instructions

1. – In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla until well combined and creamy.

2. – In a large mug or heatproof glass, add 2-3 tbsp of the butter mixture.

3. – Pour in 1/4 cup of the spiced rum and top with 1 cup of hot water. Stir to combine.

4. – Repeat the process with the remaining butter mixture, rum, and hot water, dividing evenly between 4 mugs.

5. – Garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick or grated nutmeg, if desired.

6. – Serve hot and enjoy the cozy, indulgent flavors of this classic winter warmer.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the rum with an equal amount of apple cider or hot chocolate. You can also adjust the spice levels to suit your taste preferences.
