Description

Warm up with a comforting bowl of Homemade French Garlic Soup – a classic, flavor-packed recipe that’s easy to make in just 30 minutes. This rich, velvety soup is the ultimate cozy meal, perfect for chilly days or whenever you need a taste of French cuisine.

Ingredients

– 6 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 large onion, diced

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth

– 2 sprigs fresh thyme

– 1 bay leaf

– 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)

– Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

– Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. 1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté the minced garlic and diced onion in the olive oil over medium heat until softened, about 5 minutes.

2. 2. Add the broth, thyme, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the flavors have melded.

3. 3. If using, stir in the white wine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

4. 4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. 5. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a thicker, creamier soup, you can blend a portion of the soup in a blender or use an immersion blender. Serve with crusty bread for dipping. This soup also freezes well for easy reheating later.
