Indulge in this unique and refreshing coffee-based cocktail, the Espresso Tonic with Yuzu Foam. The rich, bold espresso is perfectly balanced by the bright, citrusy yuzu foam topping, creating a sophisticated and delightful pick-me-up.
Ingredients
– 1 shot (2 oz) freshly brewed espresso
– 4 oz chilled soda water
– 2 tbsp fresh yuzu juice
– 1 tbsp granulated sugar
– 1 egg white
Instructions
1. 1. In a small bowl, whisk together the yuzu juice and sugar until the sugar has fully dissolved.
2. 2. Add the egg white and whisk vigorously until the mixture is light and frothy, about 2-3 minutes.
3. 3. Fill a glass with ice and pour in the freshly brewed espresso.
4. 4. Top with the chilled soda water.
5. 5. Spoon the yuzu foam over the top of the espresso tonic.
6. 6. Garnish with a slice of yuzu or other citrus, if desired.
7. 7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
– For a sweeter foam, add an extra 1-2 teaspoons of sugar.
– You can substitute lemon or lime juice for the yuzu if it’s not available.
– Store any leftover yuzu foam in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
