Description

Indulge in the perfect balance of soft, fluffy bread and rich, creamy custard with this easy, 30-minute Custard-Filled Sweet Bread recipe. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or anytime you crave a delectable treat.

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 2 large eggs

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup prepared custard

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

2. – In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

3. – Add the softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat with a hand mixer or stand mixer until the dough comes together and is smooth.

4. – Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface to a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick.

5. – Spread the prepared custard evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.

6. – Carefully roll the dough up into a tight log, starting from the short end.

7. – Place the rolled dough seam-side down in the prepared loaf pan.

8. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. – Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. – Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!

Notes

– For a richer custard flavor, use a higher-quality vanilla custard or pastry cream.

– Brush the top of the baked bread with melted butter or a simple glaze for extra shine and flavor.

– Store any leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
