Description

Indulge in the ultimate taco experience with these mouthwatering Crispy Beer Battered Fish Tacos. Perfectly crisp and flavorful fried fish, fresh toppings, and a creamy sauce come together in a delicious handheld treat.

Ingredients

– 1 lb white fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or halibut), cut into bite-sized pieces

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon paprika

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1 cup cold beer

– 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil for frying

– 8-10 small corn or flour tortillas

– Shredded cabbage

– Diced tomatoes

– Chopped cilantro

– Lime wedges

– Creamy sauce (such as a chipotle aioli or sour cream)

Instructions

1. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.

2. – Slowly whisk in the cold beer until a smooth, slightly thick batter forms.

3. – Heat the oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F.

4. – Working in batches, dip the fish pieces into the beer batter, allowing any excess to drip off.

5. – Carefully lower the battered fish into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

6. – Transfer the fried fish to a paper towel-lined plate.

7. – Warm the tortillas according to package instructions.

8. – To assemble the tacos, place a few pieces of crispy fried fish in each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and a drizzle of creamy sauce.

9. – Serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the battered fish rest for 10-15 minutes before frying. Adjust the seasoning in the batter to your taste. The beer batter can also be used to fry other types of seafood or vegetables.
