Description
A rich, buttery pecan pie with a sweet and gooey filling, nestled in a flaky crust. This classic dessert is a holiday favorite, perfect for Thanksgiving or any special gathering.
Ingredients
For the Pie Crust:
- ? 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- ? 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- ? 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- ? 1/4 teaspoon salt
- ? 3-4 tablespoons ice water
For the Filling:
- ? 1 cup pecans, chopped
- ? 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- ? 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- ? 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- ? 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ? 3 large eggs
- ? 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ Make the Pie Crust:
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough comes together.
3️⃣ Roll Out the Dough:
Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Place the crust in the pan and trim any excess dough.
4️⃣ Prepare the Filling:
In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, eggs, and salt until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.
5️⃣ Fill the Pie Crust:
Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
6️⃣ Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. If the edges of the crust brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
7️⃣ Cool and Serve:
Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream if desired. Enjoy your delicious pecan pie! ?️?
