Description

Grandma’s Cinnamon Swirl Apple Bread is a mouthwatering quick bread that’s perfect for any occasion. With a moist, tender crumb and a delightful cinnamon-sugar swirl, this recipe is sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup grated or chopped apple (about 1 medium apple)

– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. – In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

4. – Fold in the grated or chopped apple.

5. – In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of the flour mixture.

6. – Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Top with the remaining batter and use a knife to swirl the cinnamon-sugar through the batter.

7. – Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use a firm, tart apple variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. The cinnamon-sugar swirl can also be used to create a streusel topping by increasing the amount of cinnamon-sugar mixture. Store the bread at room temperature, covered, for up to 5 days.
