Ingredients

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped

– 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. 2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

3. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

4. 4. Fold in the chopped cranberries.

5. 5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

6. 6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. 7. Allow the bars to cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a festive twist, you can add a teaspoon of orange zest to the batter. These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
