Ingredients
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
– 1 cup warm water
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– Pinch of dried oregano
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. – In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the warm water and olive oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms.
2. – Press the dough into a well-greased cast iron skillet, pressing it up the sides to create a deep-dish crust.
3. – Pour the crushed tomatoes over the dough, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and a pinch of oregano on top.
4. – Bake at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. – Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
