Description
Indulge in the ultimate Cheesy Seafood Tortilla Bombs – a homemade savory delight that’s perfect for appetizers, snacks, or even a main course. These crispy, golden brown bites are filled with a creamy, cheesy seafood mixture that’s sure to satisfy your cravings.
Ingredients
– 8 oz cooked seafood (shrimp, crab, or a mix)
– 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican cheese blend)
– 1/4 cup diced onion
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1/2 tsp chili powder
– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 8 small tortilla wrappers
– Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked seafood, shredded cheese, diced onion, minced garlic, paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
2. Lay a tortilla wrapper on a flat surface. Scoop about 2-3 tablespoons of the seafood mixture into the center of the wrapper.
3. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly to form a compact cylinder or ‘bomb’.
4. In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
5. Carefully place the tortilla bombs into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Transfer the fried tortilla bombs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
7. Serve the Cheesy Seafood Tortilla Bombs warm, with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding diced jalapeño or bell pepper to the seafood mixture. You can also experiment with different cheese blends or add a splash of hot sauce. These bombs are best enjoyed fresh, but you can make them ahead of time and reheat in the oven before serving.
