Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of homemade caramel apple crisp, featuring a golden, crumbly topping and tender, caramelized apples. This easy-to-make dessert is the perfect cozy treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

– 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup rolled oats

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of the brown sugar and the cinnamon. Spread the apples in a 9×13 inch baking dish.

3. – In a separate bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar, flour, oats, and butter. Use your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. – Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.

5. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

6. – Allow the caramel apple crisp to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

7. – Enjoy warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.

Notes

– For a deeper caramel flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the brown sugar with light or dark brown sugar.

– Experiment with different apple varieties, such as Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith, to find your perfect flavor combination.

– Leftover crisp can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
