Description

Bloomin’ Apples are a cozy and irresistible autumn dessert. Baked apples are stuffed with a buttery, cinnamon-sugar filling and served warm, often with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Ingredients

– 4 large Honeycrisp or Gala apples

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – Core the apples, leaving a 1/2-inch bottom intact. Use a paring knife or melon baller to scoop out the cores, creating a well in each apple.

3. – In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

4. – Spoon the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the hollowed-out centers of the apples, packing it in gently.

5. – Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish and pour 1/4 cup of water into the bottom of the dish.

6. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the filling is bubbling.

7. – Serve the Bloomin’ Apples warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.

Notes

– For a crunchier topping, sprinkle the apples with a mixture of chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, before baking.

– Experiment with different apple varieties, such as Gala, Honeycrisp, or Fuji, to find your favorite.

– Store leftover Bloomin’ Apples in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
