Description

Indulge in the comforting flavors of homemade Apple Crisp, featuring tender cinnamon-spiced apples topped with a golden, crunchy oat topping. This quick and easy dessert is perfect for any occasion, from cozy weeknights to holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

– 6 cups peeled, sliced apples

– 1 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup rolled oats

– 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of the brown sugar and the cinnamon. Spread the apples in the prepared baking dish.

3. – In a separate bowl, combine the remaining 3/4 cup brown sugar, flour, oats, and cold butter. Use a fork or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. – Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.

5. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

6. – Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a firmer texture, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. You can also add a tablespoon of lemon juice to the apples for a bit of brightness. Leftover apple crisp can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
