Description

Indulge in a classic apple crisp dessert without the need for oats. This easy recipe comes together quickly and delivers a delightful combination of sweet, tender apples and a golden, crumbly topping.

Ingredients

– 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.

3. – Transfer the apple mixture to a 9-inch baking dish.

4. – In a separate bowl, combine the flour and cubed butter. Use your fingers or a fork to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5. – Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.

6. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

7. – Allow the apple crisp to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try using a combination of sweet and tart apples. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the apple mixture. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
