Ingredients

– 24 oz (3 packages) cream cheese, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 3 eggs

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

– 4 cups peeled and sliced apples

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch springform pan.

2. – In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. – Pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared pan.

4. – In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Use a fork or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5. – Arrange the sliced apples over the cheesecake batter, then sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.

6. – Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is almost set. Allow to cool completely before removing the springform ring.

7. – Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

For a firmer cheesecake, you can use a combination of cream cheese and sour cream. Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste, or add a splash of brandy or rum to the filling for extra flavor.
