Description

Indulge in the rich, velvety flavors of Apple Cream Braised Cabbage – a comforting and easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or holiday gathering.

Ingredients

– 1 head green cabbage, sliced into 1-inch thick strips

– 2 crisp apples, cored and sliced

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. 1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat.

2. 2. Add the sliced cabbage and apples. Sauté for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is starting to soften and the apples are slightly caramelized.

3. 3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

4. 4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the cabbage mixture for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is very tender and the sauce has thickened.

5. 5. Serve the Apple Cream Braised Cabbage warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

– For a heartier meal, serve with crusty bread or roasted potatoes.
